I'm not picky. I'll eat anything as long as it's got meat and is a reasonable price.

[Truth is, he never had anyone care enough about him to teach him about things like a proper diet.]

I particularly like canned coffee, though.

So, you're a carnivore by choice, hm? [Tear was okay with that, but she'd lived a soldier's life, complete with the diet of subpar military food, so she'd learned to appreciate all kinds of foods, but vegetables the most.]

Canned coffee? I can't say I've had that before.

[She's never had canned coffee? It was the best. Time for Accelerator to buy her some.]

Looks like I'll have to go to a convenience store and get you some. And carnivore? I guess. I've just never really cared about food and ate whatever looked good.

Well, eating food that tastes good is important, but so is eating food that is healthy for you.

No one's really told me what healthy eating is anyways.

[He stays thin largely because his powers come with a hormone imbalance, that and the fact he didn't eat much because he didn't know how to cook and couldn't be bothered going out.]

Well, I did live with two teachers once, and they did their best...

[Tear's powers have been trained properly from the second she manifested them. Her brother made sure of that. And, her Grandfather made sure that she ate as healthily as possible, considering their circumstances. And Major Legretta made sure she could survive in the wild during her missions. So, Tear, Tear was a little surprised that people would allow Accelerator to live as long as he had without giving him basic living skills.]

So, you're saying that you need a keeper to make sure that you eat properly?

[Accelerator had never needed to work hard to survive. His powers worked well enough on their own without extensive training. His main training had been- well, killing people with his powers, be they street thugs stupidly thinking they could cross him or military clones calmly accepting they were to be killed by him. He'd never get over how those brats never even seemed offended by his personality, never mind the fact he systematically slaughtered them.]

Yeah, pretty much. I don't cook. I've always had the money to buy whatever I like. When you're a lab rat and hit man you get paid well.

[She's a little surprised. But then she remembers a certain redhead that she hasn't seen in a while and sighs. These things happen, evidently.]

My pay is...decent. However, I prefer to cook for myself mostly, so I hardly ever go out to eat.

...I don't know how to cook.

[There. He said it. He doesn't know how to cook at all.]

And I pretty much do whatever the fuck I want, so I don't think teaching me will do anything.

[His words may be cold, but inside he's grinning at the idea of making cookies with her and shit. God, he really needs to get his shit together and just say what he means.]

[Too much time spent around Jade. She can tell that there's something that he's holding back. And... after all that time around Anise, she knows how to act in this situation. Jump on it like a shark sensing blood in the water.]

[As Last Order had proved, Accelerator was no good when directly confronted. Have an awkward little huff, combined with a blush that's easy to see on his pale skin. Busted, eh?]

O-of course it is! A-alright, maybe I was being a little too harsh, damn you!

[After witnessing his obvious struggle to answer, Tear finally understood the entertainment in the situation. At least, when she wasn't the subject of such teasing.]

So, does this mean you'll be joining me for my evening meal, because I believe the waiter is returning with my food.

Yeah, yeah. I'll be joining you.

[Accelerator's tone is harsh but he did seem to physically relax more. He just wanted to be accepted, and for once, this girl didn't seem put off by his presence. Then again, she didn't know much about him.]

So what you do? You know, when strange and highly dangerous guys aren't coming to talk to you for reasons they can't even figure out.

[She chuckled under her breath as he got comfortable. Really, after traveling with Jade and the others and dealing with her brother and his group, this was almost normal and easy.]

I'm a member of the military. [Which one, she's not saying.]

Yeah? Well, I am the military.

[He's being a little overboard here, but he's essentially telling the truth. Kind of. He was frequently charged with tasks that military units handled all alone.]

Or at least the bastards don't mind telling me to be their killing machine.

Hm, well, I have killed people, but my main function is support. I heal and use my artes to attack behind the main fighters in my party.

[Such a dumb and watered-down version of what it is that she really does, but it's true.]

My powers are a lot more deadly than that. Ever heard of the phrase "the best offense is a good defense"? That could discribe me exactly.

[Not that Accelerator couldn't do multiple offensive attacks. But his redirection had injured and killed many, many people.]

I can't even be touched hardly without hurting people.

[She frowns at the casual way he talks about killing others. Yes, it was a part of her life, but it was never an easy thing for her.]

You sound almost as if you enjoy it.

[Of course he doesn't enjoy it, but he sure wants you think he does. The reason for that is not something he'll say easily. She's welcome to try to get him to spill his guts, though.]

I could hold the world in the palm of my hand if I wanted. What's not to enjoy?

[At the bullshit he's spouting, she's losing her interest in this conversation. She hated it when people lied to themselves more than anything else.]
